Absence Due to Medical Issues
I have recently had three months of absence from school (17th October 2011-9th January 2012) due to unavoidable surgery. During this period of three months, I have been unable to participate in some parts of the production process. I have now returned to school and am able to resume work on our film opening project.

Jobs in the Film Industry
Creating a film (or in our case a film opening) requires a vast amount of people with a variety of different skills. These different roles are:
DIRECTOR
PRODUCER
FLOOR TEAM
CAST
MAKE UP TEAM
COSTUME TEAM
SET DESIGN
MUSIC TEAM
PR/MARKETING TEAM
ASSISTANTS
SFX TEAMS
PROPS TEAM
STUNTS TEAM
HEALTH AND SAFETY TEAM
LIGHTING TEAM
CAMERAPEOPLE
STILL PHOTOGRAPHERS
SOUND TEAM
RUNNER
SCRIPT WRITER
CONTINUITY TEAM
EXTRAS
LOCATION SCOUT
ADMIN TEAM
Each of these teams possess unique skills are essential in producing a film. I shall explain a few in greater detail below.
DIRECTOR
The director’s job is to take the ideas of the producer and script writer and to put those into action to the best of his/her ability. The director is also responsible for final decisions on casting, script and editing. The director must make be able to visualise what he/she wants the film to look like (in terms of scene composition etc.) and what will attract an audience to watch the film.
For our film opening, STACEY KING will perform this role.
PRODUCER
A producer oversees all aspects of film production from initial idea development (script writing and casting) all the way through to post-production (editing etc.) and marketing. (advertisements, premieres etc.). The producer is also responsible for the completed product.
I will be performing this role in our group.
CAMERA OPERATOR
The camera operator follows the instructions of the director and other members of the production team to ensure that each scene is composed properly etc. This is one of the most vital roles in film production as what the camera sees is what the public will see in the final product.
TOM CARLTON will perform this role in our group.
SOUND OPERATOR
The job of the sound operator for our film opening will be performed by TOM CARLTON. This role is very similar to that of the camera operator in which the sound operator also takes directions from the producer and other members of the production team to produce the best piece of work possible to contribute towards the rest of the finished film.
These are some of the most vital jobs and the ones that usually get mentioned in the opening minutes of films. Therefore we will include these 4 job roles in our production, along with the title of the film, the production company and the main actors.
